Fix your ugly plymouth in 3 simple steps in Lucid Lynx (Ubuntu 10.04)

Most of you guys who are using a proprietary driver from ATI must have been frustrated by the ugly look of plymouth while booting up. I am not sure if Nvidia driver users are in the same soup.I have found a very simple way to fix it. In other words the GUI way. No terminal action needed.!! So , lets jump into the act then!

Step1: Open Synaptic Package Manager and install startupmanager
Step2: Fire up Startup-Manager from System -> Administration -> Startup-Manager
Step3: Change the Resolution under the Display section to 1600×1200 and Color Depth to 24bits. (Note: This resolution is for my machine. Check how much resolution your screen/monitor can support from System -> Preferences -> Monitors)

Close and restart the system to enjoy a very polished plymouth booting up!
Note: This workaround makes the bootloader menu font very small. But i have not been able to find a way to fix that. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
