Popular lighweight download manager, Steadyflow, is now available for download from Ubuntu 12.04 universe repositories. This means you will not have to install an extra ppa to get regular updates.
To install Steadyflow, all you need to do is open up Ubuntu Software Center and search for Steadyflow.
OR
Just type sudo apt-get install steadyflow in an open terminal window.

Steadyflow integrates nicely with the Ubuntu Unity top panel and also the launcher. At present there are not many options, however, pause and resume are supported for downloads. The options quicklist can be accessed by left clicking on the icon on the top panel

Steadyflow can also be paired up with Firefox plugin, Flashgot, to make it the default download manager for Firefox. The application integrates well with Firefox and registers almost all the file extensions properly.
Steadyflow can also be integrated with Google Chrome with an extension called Chromeflow. This can be downloaded from here
