GIMP can now be operated in a single window mode. All you need to do is enable the testing repository from Ubuntu Tweak. Then hit the refresh button. When the update manager pops up just install the updated GIMP package. Then open GIMP . go to Windows -> single windowed mode. Thats it. enjoy !!
